For a while I’ve been toying with the idea of delineating my work as a mix engineer from the brand known as Doc’s Basement. I’d like potential collaborators to be able to see me as an individual rather than just as a business.
Many of you probably know Doc’s Basement as a builder of cables, or you’ve picked up on my recent effort to humanize the brand and showcase music mixing and production.
Seven of you have already found @willmix.studio on Instagram. It’s an account, and it’s also a web address. With one clear message: I live to make music. It’s a place to share mixing conversation, new projects, and regular human life stuff. A place not just for followers, but for friends. At willmix.studio you’ll find Will Melones.
There may be a future in which Doc’s Basement exclusively makes cables, and other studios who use them need not worry about some perceived conflict of interest.
